It was day 4 of our Disney vacation, the 4 children on our trip were exhausted from living, eating and breathing Disney. Every morning we got up super early and came home super late so it’s no surprise that they were just simply tired. I wanted my daughter (age 3) to have the best vacation ever and she did, but she was just DONE. So the grandma’s on the trip suggested that us “moms” go the last day kid-less. Of course I felt extreme guilt but there were three things that gave me reason to go 1. The ticket was already paid for 2. My daughter said “mommy I just want to sleep” 3. I love Disney and I could not be in Florida and not be at Disneyworld.
So my sister (Whittney), my cousin, and I set out for an adult day at Disney…..and I loved it! I still felt guilt but it was so nice to enjoy the day worry free. Mom’s need a day to enjoy things they love and take in the atmosphere around them.
Here’s the upsides of going to Disney kid free
No Strollers! Strollers are a necessity and an annoyance. Fighting crowds plus the sea of strollers in stroller parking
You can watch the parades up close where you can squeeze in through the crowd
Its much easier riding rides with no height requirement or fear of rides (we traveled with toddlers)
Getting food wasn’t a big deal since we just grabbed whatever we felt like eating and didn’t have to worry about finding a place that everyone liked
Shopping was a breeze! We casually strolled through the gift shops on Main Street USA looking at whatever we wanted to (hello fancier shops that parents stay away from with kids in tow)
You don’t have to share your Dole Whip! My daughter didn’t want one on our first day at Magic Kingdom but ate mine
So all and all if you’re a Disney lover like me I highly suggest a Disney trip/day without kids. Of course I suggest taking your kids too but if you’re kids have had plenty of Disney in their life, don’t be afraid to take the leap and go without them!
